I function check the laser periodically, like most of my gear, since the Bodyguard is my often carried back-up gun on duty. I turned the laser on and it produced a weak light.
Apr 09, 2022· I bought the Bodyguard 38 special many years ago, lost the manual and hex keys and I had a heck of a time figuring out how to change batteries in that Insight-brand laser. On mine, the hex key (aka allen wrench) size needed to remove the one screw to access the batteries is .050". The key needed for adjustments is .035".

On their second attempt S &W replaced the frame ( now EABxxx, not EAAxxx) to correct the take down pin problem and it seems to have worked. I put 350 rounds through the gun to test it, and I really like the gun and can shoot it well. But, S &W introduced two new problems that I didn't have before:

I don't know of any after market sights that are available, but you may want to get some enamel paint and paint the front sight white, yellow or red if you are not comfortable with instinctive aiming.
